Second Step: The use of a filling system

After creating the blog, I found a good tool that I can use for the filling process of every paper that I have to use during my dissertation. Endnote (www.endnote.com) is the software that I will use because it has a companion tool named endnoteweb (www.myendnoteweb.com). Once you install the pc version (or mac) you can create an account in endnote web for free.

The pc version is the version 6 . Initially I installed the version 5, but the sync process was difficult. The version 6 is easy very useful.

Endnote was installed using the Nova license. I typed endnote in the search bottom and I picked up the "patron portals: resources for NSU Distance students" and there you can find the Thomson Researchsoft link. Download the endnote version 6 and install it.

Once you have the pc or mac version installed in your computer you MUST start a database and UPDATE the version going to Endnote program updates inside of the Help tag. This is very important in order to avoid syncing problems with Endnote web. I spent some ours trying to sync until I found in the documentation that it was necessary to update the version to 6.0.1

Create some references and create a group.Move some references to this group and now you are ready to sync with Endnote Web.





Go to my Endnote web (www.myendnoteweb.com) and create a web account providing your email and a password (the password needs capitols, numbers and special characters).

once you have the web account you can go to your local endnote and start the sync process. Go to tools and click sync. The system ask for your email address and your password and after that it requires a compression of the database and after that it moves your references to the web. It is an automatic process, so after some minutes you have your references in internet. I did it and it worked fine.
